Key takeaways

  • Best for rest and privacy: Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, in Punta Mita, with 15 tented bungalows, no more than 30 guests, dining in your tent around the clock and a 90-minute spa journey per guest in the rate.

  • Judge the rate on what you'll use: if you're not drinking, 24-hour dining, spa time and transfers are worth more than the bar.

  • Travel between 14 and 28 weeks: that's the window ACOG calls the best time to travel.

The best all-inclusive resorts in Mexico for a relaxing babymoon

For a babymoon built around rest, Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort is the all-inclusive we'd book first: 15 tented bungalows on the Pacific, a cap of 30 guests, dining in your tent at any hour and a spa journey in the rate. If you want a babymoon package with prenatal spa time already built in, Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit both sell one.

An all-inclusive rate fits a babymoon in a way it doesn't always fit other trips. Once you've arrived, you don't sign checks or work out what each dinner costs. The catch is that the rate pays for wine and spirits whether or not you drink them. So this list leans toward resorts where the rate also pays for the things expecting couples use: food at 3am, spa time, short or included airport transfers, and quiet.

AAA Diamonds, Forbes Travel Guide stars and Condé Nast Traveler lists

1. Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort: Best for rest and privacy

A resort of 15 tented bungalows above the Pacific, with no more than 30 guests.

Location: The Punta Mita peninsula in Riviera Nayarit, about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR).

Best for: Couples who want quiet, nature and nothing to organize.

Rooms: 15 tented bungalows, each with a private plunge pool.

Recognition: Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown (2026: Hot List, Gold List and Readers' Choice Awards); Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star.

Ages: 16 and over.

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort opened in late 2022 on 48 acres of forest. The rate covers every meal, including dining in your bungalow, which runs 24 hours, plus all drinks, one 90-minute spa journey per guest per stay and daily experiences. There's no standing menu at Cocina Copal, where the kitchen cooks over an open fire, and the Selva Pool serves fresh juices and tonics for anyone skipping the wine.

Wellness is the point of the place. The House of Heat runs 150-minute temazcal ceremonies, and ACOG advises pregnant people to avoid overheating, so ask your Naviva guide to plan your spa journey and rituals around your trimester. Naviva guests can also use the restaurants, pools and two beaches at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, a separate resort five minutes away.

Downside: Naviva's own beach, La Solana, is rocky and suited to strolling and sunbathing, so you'll swim in your plunge pool or at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. Airport transfers cost extra.

2. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancún: Best for butler service near the airport

Adults-only, with a butler and a 25-minute airport run.

Location: Cancún's Hotel Zone, about 22 to 26 minutes from Cancún International Airport (CUN).

Best for: Couples short on time who want to reach the pool soon after landing.

Recognition: AAA Five Diamond (since 2010); Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star.

Ages: Adults only.

Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancún is an adults-only all-inclusive with butler service and 24-hour room service in the rate. Guests can use the spa's hydrotherapy circuit at no charge, without booking a treatment.

Downside: ACOG advises avoiding overheating in pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, so ask which parts of the hydrotherapy circuit suit you. The Caribbean coast also gets sargassum in the warmer months.

3. Hotel Xcaret Arte: Best for included transfers and day trips

Airport transfers and park entry are in the rate.

Location: Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, about 45 minutes from CUN.

Best for: Couples who want a few easy outings without paying for each one.

Rooms: 900 suites.

Recognition: AAA Five Diamond (since 2022); Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star; a MICHELIN star for its Le Chique restaurant.

Ages: 16 and over.

Hotel Xcaret Arte's "All-Fun Inclusive" rate covers unlimited airport transfers and entry to the Xcaret parks and tours, so a slow afternoon at a park costs nothing extra.

Downside: With 900 suites it's the largest resort here, the Muluk Spa costs extra, and the parks can mean a lot of walking in the heat.

4. Atelier Playa Mujeres: Best for suite space and 24-hour dining

An all-suite, all-inclusive resort north of Cancún, with no guests under 16.

Location: Playa Mujeres, north of Cancún, about 30 to 45 minutes from CUN.

Best for: Couples who want a big suite and food on call at any hour.

Rooms: 593 suites.

Recognition: Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star.

Ages: 16 and over.

Atelier Playa Mujeres sits on the Playa Mujeres strip north of Cancún. The rate is all-inclusive, room service runs 24 hours, and nobody under 16 stays on property, so there are no children at the pools.

Downside: With 593 suites it's a big resort, it doesn't hold AAA's Five Diamond rating, and the Caribbean coast gets sargassum in the warmer months.

Eating well at an all-inclusive while pregnant

Buffets and raw bars are where it's easiest to slip. FoodSafety.gov advises pregnant people to avoid ceviche and raw shellfish and to eat seafood cooked to 145°F, and the CDC says to skip unheated queso fresco. Order cooked dishes from the à la carte restaurants or room service, and ask for bottled water and ice made from purified water.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best all-inclusive resort in Mexico for a babymoon?

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, in Punta Mita is our first choice for rest and privacy: 15 tented bungalows, no more than 30 guests, 24-hour in-tent dining and a 90-minute spa journey per guest in the rate.

Are all-inclusive resorts worth it for a babymoon?

They can be, if the rate covers what you'll use. When neither of you is drinking, 24-hour dining, spa time and included transfers matter more than the bar.

Is Naviva adults-only and all-inclusive?

Yes. All guests must be at least 16, and the rate covers all meals and drinks, one 90-minute spa journey per guest per stay and daily experiences. Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, five minutes away, is a separate resort that welcomes families.

When should you take a babymoon?

ACOG calls the middle of pregnancy, from 14 to 28 weeks, the best time to travel. Some airlines ask for a doctor's certificate in the last weeks before your due date.

Is it safe to travel to Mexico while pregnant?

Talk to your doctor before you book. The CDC lists Mexico among areas with current or past Zika transmission and advises pregnant travelers to discuss the risks with a health care provider. The U.S. State Department's Mexico travel advisory rates Nayarit, Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo at Level 2.
